More about Audemars Piguet:

The Queen Elizabeth II Cup is a thoroughbred horse race that is held each year in Hong Kong. It was first started in 1975 by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, and is held each year in April. The first year of the race was held to commemorate a trip that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, took to Hong Kong. For the first twenty-two years, the horses raced a distance of 2200 meters, but starting in 1997 the distance was reduced to 2000 meters.

Starting in 1995 the event included international participants, and was first sponsored by Audemars Piguet in 1999. It has been sponsored by the brand for the last 17 years, with a special edition piece produced to celebrate their sponsorship.

The present watch is from the 2015 Cup, which took place at Sha Tin Racecourse on April 26th. Since the start of its sponsorship, Audemars Piguet has helped increase international awareness of the race, and both the racing community and the watch community look forward to the presentation of their special edition watch.
