More about Gallet:

Gallet & Cie name was officially registered by Julien Gallet in 1826, who moved the family business from Geneva to La Chaux-de-Fonds. Prior to this date, operations commenced under the name of each of the Gallet family patriarchs.

Gallet is best known for its line of MultiChron chronograph wristwatches. Produced primarily for military, industrial, auto racing, and other professional applications.  Gallet’s MultiChron watches often incorporated a number of advanced timekeeping innovations with multiple recording abilities. The MultiChron 30M, a professional wrist chronograph with 30-minute recording capabilities, introduced in 1914, followed by MultiChron 12H the professional wrist chronograph with 12-hour recording capabilities, introduced in 1935 and finally an entire line of MultiChrons for functions such as Rattrapante and calendar to specific work such as the MultiChron Navigator or Pilot.

This particular Multichron 12H is a an early example fitted with the rare and beautifully finished Excelsior Park 40-68 movement instead of the later model with the more common Valjoux 72. This watch has also a rare early snap back case with square pushers. The watch has beautiful patina and is the ideal Gallet to start or complete a collection.
