When creating a limited-edition to mark the release of the 2015 James Bond film “Spectre”, Omega chose to create a version of its iconic Speedmaster, which itself shares a historical connection to the British Navy, of which the fictional character of James Bond holds the rank of commander.
This limited edition of 7,007 examples makes two subtle changes to the dial of the standard Seamaster to make this watch more Bond. First, the 60-minute diving bezel is replaced with a bi-directional 12-hour scale, which doubles as a second timezone. Secondly, the second hand on the Spectre edition is a lollipop hand, a serious nod to vintage Seamaster models of the late 1950s and early 1960s, a James Bond golden age.
