More about Vacheron Constantin:

Vintage Vacheron Constantin wristwatches are often characterized by their charismatic yet classic case designs, which differentiates them from other vintage watches of the time. From the 1950s through the 1970s, many watch brands saw an increase in interest in very thin cases. Because of the technique necessary to produce such watches, only a very few houses succeeded.  Inspired by minimalism, watch manufacturers began to make more and more of these sleek, ultra-thin cases.

From the 1940s through the 1960s, Vacheron Constantin would only make at most 24 examples of a reference in one configuration – so while they produced a variety of dial and case combinations, each one was extremely limited. The use of so many varied designs with limited production is what so many collectors find appealing about vintage Vacheron Constantin watches.

The present watch is a very early 1950s wristwatch which was very popular until the late 1970s when quartz watches inundated the market . This watch is a very rare example of an early automatic watch from this maker, with a very sophisticated finishing and regulating system seldomly seen on wristwatches from any maker. The present watch impresses with its overall excellent condition and is a classic Vacheron Constantin timepiece, with the same commitment to top quality.
