More about F.P. Journe

In 2001 F.P. Journe introduced the Octa Reserve de Marche, the first watch in his Octa Collection. His goal for the collection was to produce watches that were both practical and precise, with both useful complications and a long power reserve - no small task. Typically, a small balance wheel allows for a long power reserve, but is not very price. Journe decided to use a large balance wheel for precision, and needed to develop a new mainspring to have a long power reserve.

After several years of research and work, Journe's automatic Octa model with date and power reserve was released. The Reserve de Marche featured an automatic movement, date window, and indicator for 120-hour power reserve.

Production of the Reserve de Marche ceased in 2004, when Journe stopped producing watches with movements made of brass, and started producing movements made of rose gold. As models containing brass movements were only produced for a few years, and each model was produced in limited quantities, the Reserve de Marche has become increasingly sought-after for its classical design, useful complications, and place within the Journe line of early watches.
