More about Glycine:

Glycine, a Swiss Watch Company was established in Bienne at the beginning of the First World War. The company quickly established itself as a precision movement maker for smaller sized watches and was one of the first company with Rolex to introduce Self winding watches to the market

In 1953, Glycine introduced the Airman. The watch was one of the first able to track two time zones on a 24-hour scale, giving a pilot access to both his local time as well as a GMT reference. This was the perfect tool watch for a pilot which use Zulu time as a Time reference.

This watch was sold at a discount to AOPA member, it was unofficially used by American Marines, and was one of the most popular models used by Air Force pilots during the Vietnam war. Two models of this watch were produced: one with black dial and the other one with silver dial, both with luminescent numerals and hands. This watch follows the idea and system of the Weems watch by Longines.

A great and practical complication at still an affordable price. This classic Airman is in excellent condition with beautiful cream patina and a roulette date.
