More about Heuer:

The Heuer Carrera model derives its name from the famous  and very dangerous Mexican "Carrera Panamericana" race that was started in the 1950s. It was considered the most dangerous race in the World and attracted many of the leading drivers of the time. The Argentinean driver Juan Manuel Fangio, five times Formula 1 World Champion, won the race in 1953.

As a tribute to this unique adventure, Heuer launched the Carrera chronograph wristwatch in 1963. The model with its distinctive look was an immediate success. Jack Heuer, CEO of the company, wanted a watch with excellent readability. The Carrera became a best seller for the company and was made in many different variations. The line was revived by Tag Heuer and the earliest models have now achieved iconic status.

The present model is the most legible among the Carreras with a red tachymetre scale printed around the hour marker. Combined the red tachymeter with the cleaner bi-compax combination found in  the ref 3647,  it gives the dial  a larger and clearer look. Most importantly the condition of the watch is near New Old Stock, with an immaculate dial and an unpolished case with the original sticker still on the case back.
