More about Omega:

The Omega Speedmaster  Alaska project was introduced in 2008. The model was based on a series of prototypes created by NASA in the 1970's. It was created in a limited edition of 1970 watches.

The Alaska Project actually begins by NASA engineer James H. Ragan, they called it the "Alaska project" because it had to withstand extreme temperatures, especially those on the dark side of the Moon. Omega team came up with the solution of an external casing made of red anodized aluminum. The project title Alaska was from then on used for every assignment they did for NASA.

Directed by Pierre Chopard, this project led to a Swiss patent no. CH537170 in May, 31 1973. This patent was for an outer protective case built to protect the watch against high temperature variations between -148 and+260c in space.

This Limited edition is complete and has never been worn. The watch value has slowly and continuously increased since its original release. This  is your chance to grab one as if you had bought it in a boutique nearly 10 years ago.
