More about Rolex:
Collectors gave the Rolex Precision Ref. 9083 the nickname "UFO" due to its flat, circular shape, reminiscent of the flying saucers that so haunted the 1950s imagination. The integrated bracelet, seen prior to the 1960s on gold models such as the Cellini, is unusual to see in a stainless steel dress watch. This, along with the distinctive honeycomb texture of the dial, marks this watch as rare and collectible.
The Ref. 9083 was introduced exclusively for the British market in 1956. It ran for only a limited period of time. A cal. 1210 movement beats inside this watch and features a straight line lever escapement and a Breguet overcoil balance spring.
